Luong The Huy is a gender policy expert, graduated with a master's degree in Law and Sexuality, and has been an LGBTI rights activist since 2008. He is a member of various leadership and social advocacy networks such as Forbes' 30 Under 30, Atlantic Fellows, Asia Society, among others. The social cause projects he has initiated center around marginalized communities and focus on legal aid, documentary film and mental health.

At UMT, Huy believes that the goal of liberal education is not only to foster students' academic growth, but also to nurture their values and independent thinking, helping them become global people, concerned citizens and empathetic leaders, qualities that cannot be replaced by any technology or tool in the 21st century.
