Dr. Ha Trieu Huy specializes in modern and contemporary Vietnamese history (from 1858 to the present), Vietnamese and Southeast Asian culture, and Asia-Pacific international relations.

He has published 33 English articles in reputable scholarly journals in Vietnam and internationally, with 10 of these indexed in the ISI/Scopus database. An experienced researcher with innovative ideas, Dr. Huy has participated in numerous academic seminars in the United States and is a member of the World History Association and the Association for Asian Studies. He also serves as a reviewer for respected journals covering the history, culture, and politics of Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

Joining UMT, Dr. Huy aims to inspire students in their academic and career pursuits, encourage scientific research and startup initiatives, and promote a multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and liberal arts approach to education, aligning with UMT’s vision as a university of liberal arts and practicality.
