Abstract: This research study examines the perspectives of female leaders in public relations in Vietnam, regarding the influence of gender on their leadership roles. The research reveals notable disparities in opinions and experiences regarding liberal feminist theory and gender equality in the workplace. While the participants reported having equal opportunities compared to their male counterparts and believed that gender did not impact leadership style or team performance significantly, some participants expressed the view that female leaders tend to be less logical due to emotional considerations. Despite women dominating the industry, male leaders still hold most managerial positions. Nonetheless, the participants exhibited positive perceptions of female leaders in public relations, describing them as meticulous and devoted to their work. Surprisingly, most participants did not consider salary as the most important factor in job evaluation and did not compare their income with that of their male colleagues. This research sheds light on the unique perspective of female leaders in public relations in Vietnam regarding gender equality in the workplace. By focusing on the experiences and opinions of women in leadership positions, the study contributes to the understanding of the factors influencing women’s leadership in the public relations industry in Vietnam.
