Nurtured through years of profound dedication, the University of Management and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City (UMT) has undergone a formative journey marked by significant and enduring milestones.
The Prime Minister approved the establishment proposal for the University of Management and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City (UMT) project. Established as an entirely new institution guided by a liberal arts ethos, UMT was envisioned to catalyze a profound transformation in higher education, both within Vietnam and globally.
The UMT Project Management Board engaged DP Architects (DPA)-a prestigious firm from Singapore with extensive expertise in constructing advanced universities worldwide-to execute the architectural design and campus master planning strategy.
UMT officially established its campuses at the following locations: - Main Campus: 60CL Street, Cat Lai Ward, Thu Duc City, HCMC. - Campus 2: 11 35CL Street, Cat Lai Ward, Thu Duc City, HCMC. - Campus 3: 311-319 Gia Phu, Ward 1, District 6, HCMC. - Campus 4: 259 Hai Ba Trung, Ward 6, District 3, HCMC.
Groundbreaking ceremony for UMT at a prime location within the dynamic Cat Lai Urban Area, Thu Duc City, HCMC. The campus was initiated with the vision of becoming a pioneering, innovative university in academics, research, and governance.
The Prime Minister officially approved the charter establishing the University of Management and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City.
The Board of Trustees and its Chairman, Huynh Ba Lan, Ph.D., were officially recognized for the 2021–2026 term.
Huynh Ba Lan, Ph.D., was officially appointed as the President of the University.
The Ministry of Education and Training officially authorized UMT to commence academic training operations.
UMT held its Inauguration Ceremony and the Convocation for the 2022–2023 academic year.
